Thurgoona Country Club Resort
Thurgoona , NSW
The Thurgoona Country Club Resort recently completed a modern renovation of its 11 King Rooms, introducing sleek guest corridors and a contemporary country aesthetic. Each room now features a bespoke carpet with a fresh, modern twist on the traditional tartan pattern. Complementing this upgrade, Altis Architecture have used local artist Vicki Luke, renowned for her art inspired by the natural environment and endangered species, to create individual artworks for each room. Her work focuses on the Sloane’s frog, a tiny, endangered species native to nearby creeks. Vicki adapted sections of her expansive mixed-media piece “Gilgai – echo of an ideal world” originally spanning 6 m × 1.5 m and depicting ephemeral wetland ecosystems to produce a distinctive piece for every King Room. This renovation ran parallel to the ongoing redevelopment of the Thurgoona Golf Club Pavilion, which remains in progress.
