Gladesville RSL Club, Sports Bar and Bistro

Gladesville, Sydney

Altis Architecture have completed a successful project at Gladesville RSL Club. The design direction is a contemporary take on a South-East Asian feel. The project includes refurbishment to the existing Bistro, Sports Bar and Lounge, TAB, amenities, and the addition of undercover alfresco area. The Bar and Bistro are designed as casual social spaces intended to attract a wider demographic to the Club. The scheme utilises timber joinery, screens and lanterns paired with bold linear details and muted colours. The Sports Bar captures the theatre and social quality of being at a live sporting event. A large 9.5m sports bar with 9 TV screens and vintage sporting memorabilia is on display. The Sports Lounge features a large VIP booth called ‘The Owner’s Box’ which groups of up to 16 can book for their own dedicated space. The clever use of materials, timber throughout, custom designed wallpaper, custom carpet, concrete tiles, marble, and brickwork all work to create a distinctive hospitality space.
