Nearing Completion - The Langlee

May 12, 2023

ALTIS ARCHITECTURE SEES THE LANGLEE  - WAVERLEY BOWLING CLUB, NEARING COMPLETION

Construction of this exciting scheme is nearing completion. Altis Architecture were tasked with this exciting project to transform the Waverly Bowling Club into a mixed-use community hub. This highly sought-after site is situated in the heart of the Eastern Suburbs and has been home to the Waverley Bowling Club since 1967. The proposal will provide an integrated social community hub for the local area, preserving a local landmark whilst benefiting both the members and wider community. The transformation includes a brand-new Clubhouse with two new bowling greens. The club is located approximately one kilometre from Tamarama Beach and two from Sydney’s Bondi Beach. The design draws inspiration from local contemporary architecture and references the heritage architectural period of the historical bowling club through simplistic forms and design proportions.

The design consists of 55 expertly considered seniors living apartments. Complimenting these, is a luxury wellness centre with a 20-metre indoor lap pool, treatment, and steam rooms along with a gym and a yoga space. The building facades consist of a combination of textured materials and screening elements expressed through a colour palette influenced by local natural materials and tones offering a fresh and contemporary aesthetic. Mirvac was selected as the successful development partner for the iconic project design by Altis Architecture. Mirvac have been working in collaboration with Easts Group, Altis Architecture and the team to ensure the “long-term aspirations” for the build are met.
