It was cause for celebration when three Altis projects won NSW Master Builders Association (MBA) Awards.
The awards are highly contested, and congratulations goes to the hardworking teams who delivered these fantastic projects. As you can see from the photo above, Andrew, Derek, Victoria and Lyndel were pretty happy with the results!
The three awards went to …
Bakehouse Cafe – Canterbury Leagues Club
Winning the Interior Fitouts $4M – $5M category, was MPA for the Canterbury League Club Bakehouse Café project. We were thrilled to work with the MPA team, who managed the construction of the new Bakehouse Café and the refurbishment of the sports lounge.
The main bar, café and dining area at the Bakehouse Cafe features a complete kitchen with all-new equipment and technology. The kitchen is hidden behind an ornately handcrafted central bar with joinery and high-end finishes. The space features timber parquetry floors, circular stone flooring, brass detailing, and pressed metal and curved solid timber joinery ceiling. Custom timber tables were made using timber sleepers from the Sydney Harbour Bridge with solid turned-timber legs.
It’s a beautiful project, with a high end finish, that the whole team can be proud of.
The Sydney Lyric Theatre
The Sydney Lyric Theatre was a challenging, technical project on a tight timeframe, so the award of Club/Entertainment Refurbishment up to $10M to Erilyan was certainly well deserved.A detailed site audit and investigation six months prior to works beginning on this demanding project was the key in Erilyan successfully achieving the project completion date of just nine weeks.
The works involved the complete demolition of existing furnishings and floors back to existing concrete, the installation of cantilevered steel beams to bring the Dress and Grand Circle seating closer to the stage, new timber floors to suit the new rake of seating, new wall and balcony joinery, paint and acoustic paneling, drop curtains and the installation of existing seats.
Innovative features included the world’s first touch-button theatre system, which enables theatre staff to control house lighting, seat number lighting, ticket sales and curtain movement.
Erilyan worked closely with our team and the consultants and theatre management to deliver an innovative project with a level of quality that we are all thrilled with.
Rosehill Gardens – JR Fleming Grandstand
Taylor was engaged to fully refurbish five levels of the existing stand while working within a live and fully functioning environment. The scope of works included the construction of two concrete and structural steel link bridges, a total upgrade to all amenities, bars, lobbies, private suites, new floor coverings and the installation of a stunning glass entry to the betting ring.
The acoustic finishes, lighting and AV equipment has transformed the Stand into a world-class venue. Constant challenges were faced during the construction phase mainly due to the scheduling of race meetings and race trials on a weekly basis. Taylors worked closely with the ATC to minimise the disruption to all parties involved in the racing industry. A complex detailed project completed to an exceptionally high standard and quality of finish.
Congratulations to everyone involved – such a wonderful result!
