Altis Architecture has been commissioned to design and act as lead Architects on a new highly eco-sensitive boutique 18 room hotel on a World Heritage UNESCO site in Indonesia.
This resort is the first of an experimental pilot program to the test the notion of eco-tourism through intelligent design and thorough checks and measures. The resort must reach the LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ‘Platinum’ sustainability rating, one of the highest in the world and as such is underwritten by the World Bank. The building will be completely ‘off grid’ utilising a waste recovery system, solar power, recyclable grey water, sustainable materials and the list goes on. This 5 star resort itself features, rooftop bar, day spa, hotel rooms and co-work space.
