One of our more spectacular recent projects is the transformation of the Sydney Lyric into a world first ‘breathable’ theatre which with a custom motorised wall system can move to suit the production.

Theatre owner, Stephen Found’s brief was to transform the venue so that every audience member could have the best possible experience of a show, and that the space would serve to accommodate the needs of international productions that had been off-limits in the past.

Time is money in the theatre industry, so after extensive research and design development, we embarked on a lightning-paced construction program of $7.5M worth of work in nine weeks with builders Erilyan, to ensure minimal disruption to the theatre.

Our designs focused on bringing a hospitality approach into the theatre itself, and in the spirit of this, our principal Andrew O’Connell can be seen below enjoying a little hospitality himself with lead performer Paulini Curuenavuli on the opening night of The Bodyguard The Musical.
